Senior Garment Technologist

Job Description: The Senior Garment Technologist will work with and develop our global supply bases. The role will involve managing and improving fit and analysing supplier performance. Experienced multi- product Senior Garment Technologist to work in a pivotal role within the technical team. A preferred knowledge or experience of swimwear or lingerie products area Please note this is a 12 month fixed term contract.  The Role:Conducting fit sessions for own product areaSupporting technologist team in managing fit sessions for other product areasEnsuring all technical issues are accurately and consistently analysed and that clear, concise and accurate comments are sent to suppliersLiaising with Design and Buying teams to offer technical guidance and support on new product developmentWorking with suppliers to improve areas of weakness, and to maintain areas of strengthIdentifying new projectsAnalysing factory performance and maintaining up-to-date records of the resulting dataManaging the critical path and high-lighting potential issues in a timely wayKeeping up-to-date with fibre composition labelling and product safety regulationsPromoting quality at all times, whilst maintaining a strong commercial attitudeMaintaining supplier performance databaseDelivering continuous improvement and creative solutionsFeeding back to Technical Manager, peers and technologists with recommendations for improvements to procedures and practisesThe Person:A technically-oriented qualification, preferably at degree level, is essential, as is a minimum of 6-7 years’ experience of a similar role in a fast-paced environmentExperience of working directly with factories, and thorough understanding of how factories are structured and operate, including types of machinery and equipmentComprehensive understanding of fitting and fit issues is essential, and pattern-cutting knowledge and practise is very desirableWorking knowledge of grading and grade rulesThorough understanding of g
